These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Redacto ("the Service"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
1. The Service
Redacto is a hosted tool that lets you upload documents, detect sensitive data, and produce a redacted output. The Service is provided "as is" and we continuously improve it. Features may be added, changed, or removed from time to time.
2. Accounts
- You must provide accurate information when creating an account.
- You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
- You are responsible for activity that happens under your account.
- You must be legally able to enter into a contract in your jurisdiction.
3. Acceptable use
You agree to use the Service lawfully and in a way that respects other people's rights. You must not upload content you do not have the right to process, and you must not use the Service to harm others or bypass its technical limits. Full details are set out in our Acceptable Use Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
4. Your content
You keep ownership of everything you upload. You grant Redacto only the limited rights needed to process your documents for the specific purpose of providing redaction. Your uploads are not stored after processing — they are deleted as soon as redaction is complete. You may also delete the redacted output from your account at any time.
5. Pricing, plans and billing
- The Free plan is available to all users with a limited page allowance.
- Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring monthly basis unless stated otherwise.
- Pricing for each plan is shown on the pricing page and may be updated from time to time; changes will not apply retroactively.
- Page allowances reset at the start of each billing cycle.
- Taxes (VAT, etc.) are applied as required by law.
6. Cancellation and refunds
You can cancel a paid plan at any time from within your account or by contacting support@redacto.co. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Unless legally required, fees already paid are not refunded for partial periods.
7. Availability and changes
We work to keep the Service available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Maintenance, incidents, or third-party failures may cause downtime. We may also modify or discontinue features, and we'll try to give reasonable notice when changes could materially affect you.
8. No unlawful use
You must not use the Service to break the law, infringe others' rights, or upload content that is illegal, abusive, or harmful. We may suspend or terminate accounts that do so. See the Acceptable Use Policy.
9. Intellectual property
Redacto, including its software, design, and branding, is owned by us and protected by applicable law. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of our intellectual property to you. You may not copy, reverse engineer, or resell the Service.
10. Warranty disclaimer
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind — express or implied — to the maximum extent permitted by law. While we work hard to make detection accurate, you remain responsible for reviewing the redacted output before relying on it.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Redacto will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits, revenue, or data. Our aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid for the Service in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.
12. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify Redacto against claims arising from your misuse of the Service, your content, or your breach of these Terms.
13. Termination
You can stop using the Service at any time. You can also permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from the Profile page in the app — this is irreversible and removes your authentication record, uploaded files, redacted outputs, and audit history. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or our Acceptable Use Policy. On termination, provisions that by their nature should survive (e.g. intellectual property, liability, governing law) will continue to apply.
14. Changes to the Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated on this page and, where appropriate, by email. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where Redacto is established. Disputes will be handled by the competent courts of that jurisdiction, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer rights.
